Something Is Watching From the Trees: The Story Behind The Watchers in the Trees

Something Is Watching From the Trees: The Story Behind

The Watchers in the Trees

What if the trees were watching you? Not birds. Not animals. Something else. In my upcoming horror novel The Watchers in the Trees, strange figures begin appearing in the forests around a small Texas town. At first, people think they are shadows or tricks of the light. But when the shapes start moving—and when the trees themselves begin to bend—everyone realizes something terrible has arrived.

The story follows Rowan and Maeve as they investigate the strange figures hanging from the branches of pecan trees at the edge of town. These creatures are not just hiding in the forest. They are learning how to exist in our world. Some of them even use human bodies to stay here longer. As the nights grow darker, Rowan and Maeve discover that the creatures are only the beginning of something much larger.

One of the scariest ideas in the book is that the forest itself is changing. The creatures can bend gravity and create stable ground in places where it shouldn’t exist. That means the woods are slowly becoming a doorway for something bigger to cross over. And high above the trees, giant shadows shaped like antlers move silently across the canopy at night.

The Watchers in the Trees is a dark Texas horror story about survival, courage, and facing something ancient that refuses to stay hidden. If you love cryptids, small-town mysteries, and stories where the forest becomes the enemy, this book is for you. Keep watching the trees… because they might be watching you too.
