What if the most dangerous thing you could inherit wasn’t money, land, or a house… but a promise someone else made long ago? That’s the terrifying idea behind my upcoming gothic horror novel The Heir Clause. In the small Texas town of Briar Hollow, a hidden contract signed years ago begins to wake up. Strange gravity shifts pull objects across rooms, people start acting like something else is speaking through them, and a mysterious force called the Thorned Witness begins searching for the one person meant to inherit the town’s fracture between worlds.


Rowan never asked to be part of this. But the contract says the line must continue. The terrifying truth? The heir isn’t meant to be sacrificed. The heir is meant to hold the bridge between two realities. As the town slowly bends under impossible pressure, Rowan and Maeve must decide if they will fight destiny together or let an ancient agreement turn Rowan into the thing that keeps the world from breaking.


This story mixes psychological horror, cosmic dread, and small-town mystery into something deeply emotional. It isn’t just about monsters or supernatural events. It’s about love, choice, and what happens when the future tries to force you into a role you never wanted. The horror grows slowly, like cracks in the ground that spread wider with every step.
