The River That Chose the Wrong Direction



Something strange is happening in Briar Hollow. After a violent storm shakes the town, the quiet creek behind the old museum begins to act… wrong. The water splits into different paths overnight. Animals appear twice in the same place. Reflections in the water move before the people standing above them. At first it seems like a mystery. But Rowan and Maeve soon realize the creek is no longer just water — it has become a doorway between worlds.


As they investigate the strange changes, they discover something ancient beneath the museum. A dark force called the Harvester is using the water to spread across the land. The creek begins to hum every night like it’s alive. And then something even more terrifying happens — the water stops flowing the way it always has. Instead of moving away from the town, the creek begins flowing back toward the museum, like something deep underground is pulling it home.


Soon the town of Briar Hollow begins to change. Houses flicker between different versions of reality. Shadows move when no one is there. And in the water, strange shapes form just beneath the surface, watching and waiting. Rowan and Maeve know that if they don’t stop the river’s strange power soon, the town could split into different realities forever.


The Creek That Splits is a dark gothic horror about love, survival, and a town where the water has learned a terrible secret. Because once a river begins dividing reality… it may never stop.
