The County Line Fracture



What if the land itself stopped obeying gravity? That is the terrifying question behind my upcoming horror novel, The County Line Fracture. The story begins in rural Texas, where something strange appears along an old county boundary. Trees tilt sideways. Birds hang frozen in the air. Even the sky looks cracked like broken glass. At first people think it is a storm or an earthquake. But Rowan Rusk and Maeve Calder know something far worse has begun.


As the strange distortions spread, entire areas of land start behaving differently. Animals become trapped between directions, dust floats above the ground, and reality begins to twist in ways no one can explain. Rowan and Maeve discover that an ancient intelligence—something older than humanity—is measuring the world and slowly expanding its territory. Every new fracture brings the danger closer to cities and towns across Texas.


But the most frightening discovery is that the force behind the fractures can use people. Important leaders, officers, and civilians can become unwilling anchors that help the strange phenomenon grow stronger. Rowan and Maeve must make impossible choices to stop the spread before the fractures cross state lines and reshape the world forever.


The County Line Fracture is a gothic Texas horror story about courage, sacrifice, and the terrifying idea that our planet might not belong only to us. Something is watching. Something is measuring. And the next fracture could appear anywhere.
