 When the Sky Broke Over Texas: The Story Behind The Night of Two Skies


What if you looked up one night and saw two skies instead of one? That is the strange and chilling idea behind my upcoming horror novel The Night of Two Skies. The story takes place in a quiet Texas town called Briar Hollow. Life there is normal—until the sky suddenly splits. One sky looks like the night everyone knows. But above it is another sky, cracked and glowing, filled with strange shapes that should not exist. People begin to realize that something beyond Earth is watching them.


The story follows Rowan and Maeve, a married couple who study strange events connected to a mysterious place called the Briar Hollow Museum of the Unseen. When the skies split open, they discover that two powerful forces are fighting above the world. One force wants control. The other is colder and more careful. As the battle grows, people in town begin acting strange, cryptids move closer to the area, and the future of the town becomes uncertain.


What makes this story different is that it mixes cosmic horror with small-town survival. The danger feels huge, but the heart of the story is about two people trying to protect their home and each other. Rowan and Maeve are not superheroes. They are ordinary people forced to face something far bigger than themselves.
